Evolve for pikachu in pokemon mystery dungeon?

ok, so i have a level 40 pikachu in pokemon mystery dungoen: blue rescue team. I got a thunderstone and I finished the storymode game. But it still says I can't evolve yet. I think the stone thing in luminous cave said it still needs an iteam. What is it and how can i get it?? Thank you!!
